Frequently asked questions

  • Are kids allowed?
Although we love your little ones, please note our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adult-only affair. You are welcome to bring your children to the resort. If you do decide to travel with your children, you must book a room in the family section and will not have access to the Elegance Club (the adults-only section.)
  • When is the RSVP deadline? How do I RSVP?
While the official RSVP deadline has passed, we are locking in our headcount on February 14th. For guests who have RSVP'd and made a booking through our preferred travel agent, THANK YOU! You're all set. For guests who are booking accommodations independently we request that you provide us with confirmation of your resort booking by February 14th so that we can include you in the final headcount.
  • Why a destination wedding?
To know us, is to know that we love to travel! In addition to wanting the beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean Sea on our wedding day, we also wanted to share our love of travel with our friends and family. We are looking forward to spending time with our loved ones beyond the ceremony and reception. Our wedding ceremony and reception will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The resort requires a 3-night minimum stay, so we request guests arrive on Saturday, May 12 (preferred) or Sunday, May 13.
  • Do you have a gift registry?
Your presence is a present, however for those interested in giving a gift you can check out our registry HERE which will be updated in February.
  • Can I bring a plus one?
We’re excited to celebrate with our nearest and dearest family and friends, and are keeping the wedding event guest list limited to those listed on the formal invitation. If you are interested in bringing an additional guest to the resort, you are more than welcome. However, please keep in mind that they likely will not be able to partake in wedding-related events due to capacity constraints.
  • What if I find the resort for a cheaper price online?
In order to attend our wedding festivities, you must book through our travel agent, Chantelle Nugent. Please note that all rates include ground transfers. If you see a rate that is significantly cheaper than our special wedding rate, please let Chantelle know.
  • Is Mexico dangerous?
From our recent experiences traveling to Mexico, it’s not any more dangerous than traveling domestically - especially if you travel smart. Majestic Elegance is located in Costa Mujeres, which is ~45 minutes north of the Cancun International Airport and away from the hustle and bustle of the Hotel Zone. The resort is also located on a beautiful and secure property, and has a beach that is more private than those located on the Hotel Zone.
  • I'm in! How do I book?
We requested all of our guests book accommodations through our travel agent, however our room block is now closed. Guests who were not able to secure a room in our block are advised to book accommodations at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres on their own. Please note that we will require proof of your reservation by February 14th in order to include you in our wedding headcount. We advise all guess to book their airfare (airport code: CUN) directly through the website of their airline of choice.
  • Do I need a passport or visa?
Yes. For U.S. Citizens and permanent residents, you need a passport that is valid for 6 months from the last day of your stay in Mexico, and has at least one blank page. If you currently do not have a valid passport, or your passport will expire before November 2024 - we advise you to apply for a new passport ASAP. The State Department is processing applications slower than usual given record application numbers, so apply early to avoid any last minute travel stress. For non-U.S. Citizens, please visit here to see if you need a visa to enter Mexico by air.
  • What airport should I fly into?
Please fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN.)
  • What's the dress code?
Cocktail attire in Pastels or soft nudes. Our ceremony will be outdoors (but not in the sand!), and our reception will be indoors - so dress to impress!
  • What other wedding events are there?
We will have a welcome event the evening of Sunday, May 10th. More details to come.
  • What other stuff is there to do in Costa Mujeres?
There are lots of excursions available from Costa Mujeres, but the most common is a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. Both the resort's excursion desk and Viator.com are great resources for finding tours and excursions.
